Bike Trails & Tours in Saalbach Hinterglemm

The Bike-Circus: Extraordinary Mountain Biking

Saalbach Hinterglemm is not only a place for superlatives in winter. The Bike-Circus in Salzburg’s Alps is Austria’s leading mountain biking region. Bike fans journey to Salzburg from all over the world to take advantage of the wonderful mountain bike trails here.

The best advantage of the Bike-Circus is that modern gondola lifts bring you up into the mountains when you don’t feel like making the ascent yourself. This is the perfect advantage for mountain biking newcomers and families.

Getting started can sometimes be difficult. For this reason the Buchegg Resort as Partner of the bike'n soul hotels have their own bike school. No matter whether you’re riding uphill or downhill – you will learn everything there is to know about biking thanks to these guided tours.

The Bike-Circus at a Glance

  • 400 km of marked mountain biking trails
  • 120 km of e-bike tours
  • 720 km biking and cycling network across the entire region
  • 5 cable cars for bike transport (up to 4,000 metres of altitude gain)

THE BEST TRAILS & TOURS IN THE BIKE-CIRCUS

We at the Resort Buchegg are also passionate mountain bikers. For this reason we are happy to give you tips about the area’s most popular trails and tours.

Hacklberg Trail on the Schattberg West

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Altitude difference: 600 m
  • Length: 6 km

Perhaps the most “flowing” of the trails is the Hacklberg Trail from the Schattberg over the Westgipfel summit towards Hinterglemm. This single trail runs from the Westgipfel lift station along a grassy ridge, through fast passages, over small jumps and rolls down into the valley. This is a must for beginners and pros looking for some airtime!

Pro Line on the Reiterkogel

  • Difficulty: medium
  • Altitude difference: 428 m
  • Length: 2.3 km

This sporty freeride trail on the Reiterkogel runs through the forest, over rocky sections and has many cool elements. If you’re up to it, you can even veer off the Pro Line and onto the famous Evil Eye Trail.

Buchegg Trail

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Altitude difference: 235 m
  • Length: 1.5 km

The new extension of the Bergstadl and Hacklberg trails is especially popular with beginners. It begins at the middle station of the Westgipfel and is a flowing, easy-to-ride trail. Four small tables, turns and rolls ensure lots of variety and plenty of riding fun.
